Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will gain:
1. Specialized and professional knowledge and skills of identification, analysis and management of risk.
2. Ability to propose measures to reduce or eliminate the risk in selected fields of engineering.
3. Acquiring basic principles of making methodology of risk evaluation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out through lectures and seminars. Lectures consist of interpretations of basic principles, methodology of given discipline, problems and their exemplary solutions. Seminars particularly support practical mastery of subject matter presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The requirement for obtaining the credit is a written seminar work and over 80% of attendance.
Oral part of this exam will take place in the class among the student and teacher in the form of discussion.

13. Documentation in accordance with the law on accident prevention, emergency planning, protection of persons and property

Aims

To acquaint students with the principles and methods of substance risk assessment for health and the environment, with the legislature of the EU and the Czech Republic with relation to dangerous substances and preparations.
