Chemistry and Technology of Environment. Contamination of the Environment. The basics of Chemical Eco-toxicology. The fate of the pollutants in the Environment. Specialties of the Decontamination and Sanation at the spread Technological Emergencies. Foundations of the Construction of Nuclear Power Plants and hazard of their Emergencies (Chernobyl, Fucushima).

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Review on the energetic and chemical plants in the operation of our industry. Basic processes from inorganic and organic technologies, work safety and prevention of industrial accidents. Graduate will be able to work as foreman or operation engineer. He or she is also able to be a member of safety service of plant. This course can also serve as a preparation for further studies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. During the teaching runs a lecture and also presented by the means of the system audio-video, together with the presentation of various teaching aids. Some chapters are here presented also on the LMS Moodle.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Written test, if the evaluation is at least "sufficient", then, it is possible to take the oral examination, for the better Evaluation is also carried out supplementary writing test.

4. Nuclear chemistry, dosimetry, utilization of nuclear chemistry
5. Chemistry of hazardous compounds, hazardous properties, physical, chemical and toxic properties,
6. Chemistry of fires and explosions, hazardous characteristics, inertization of the environment
7. Chemistry of the environment
8. Pollution of the environment
9. Technology of the protection of various components of the environment
10. Basics of chemical toxicology
11. Specialities of the decontamination and sanitation at the spread technological emergencies
12. Technology of the industrial and communal waste treatments

Aims

Knowledge on the dangerous chemical compounds, protection of health and environment and operation of various technological plants. Work and fire safety regulations, methods of prevention and personal safety aid.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Control writing test after each chapter.
