Course curriculum

1. Basic info of the spiritual substance for the world religions development and its expression in architecture
2. Types of sacral structures: temples, monasteries, hospitals, Calvaries, village chapels, etc.
3. An overview of the development of Christianity expressed in Romanesque, Renaissance,
Baroque and modern architecture.
4. Sybolic expression of the Old Testament in the space arangement of Orthodox churches
5. Symbolic expression of spiritual and religious expression in design of Gothic temples
6. Selection of the topic for the semester task – the type and purpose of the structure
7. Presentation of reference examples
