Course detail

Art VI - Design in Architecture

FA-VT6Acad. year: 2016/2017

The objective of the subject Design in Architecture is to develop the creativity and invention of the students of the Faculty of architecture. The student work out a design of an architectural detail - element (e.g. enclosing shell, stairs, pavement, skylight, column, window, structural solution, urban planning elements … ). The classes resume the passed art disciplines - drawing, painting and modelling, which make part of the program of the Institute of Drawing and Modelling, and the subjects taught in the Institute of Free Creative Activity. The assignment is individual and is directly related to the studio project. The design has to meet the demands put on function, manufacturing and technology used. An integral part of the required documents is a historical analysis and a graphic part containing the central idea, the drawings in the respective scale, the colour design, the photograph of the model, and spatial visualisation. The aesthetic quality is one of the most important features of the solution. The graphic presentation is documented on a CD and a in drawing of AO.
