English Everyday Conversation

FEKT-NJA3Acad. year: 2016/2017

Characteristics of native-speaker conversation, idioms of the spoken language, the difference between the Czech and English languages and presentation are done here. Students can continue in other specialized courses in English. The prerequisite for this course is a passed exam from either the "Headway Intermediate" or the "Headway Upper-Intermediate" course.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will develop the ability to speak English fluently and confidently, especially in less formal contexts. The activities will also increase the students' sensitivity to the way conversations work.

Prerequisites

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is requested.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods include audiovisual presentations, everyday conversation and group and pair work. Each student has the option to give an oral presentation in front of their peers during the course.

Note: The course takes two semesters.
