Operational and System Analysis

The course focuses on the introduction and practical use of selected discipline of operational research, especially in the context of support managerial decision making. Interpretation is headed from explaining the basic theoretical background to their practical application. Emphasis is also placed on the use of appropriate software support.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The students acquire knowledge and skills of practical use of selected methods of operational research in business management by completing the course.
The students will adapt selected methods and techniques thanks the practical realisation of concrete case studies.

Prerequisites

For the study of the subject are required basic knowledge of management (management functions, managerial roles) and mathematics (linear algebra, graph theory, probability).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline, including illustrative examples.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The following conditions have to be met by a student to be given the graded credit:
1. Successful completion of the semester project within the specified deadline.
2. Successful completion of two credit tests.
