Fashion in Art – Art in Fashion

FaVU-MUUMAcad. year: 2017/2018

The course extends students' horizons of visual culture to fashion.
They recognize it as a sum of aesthetic, psychological, social and
marketing strategies It is an ideal example for introducing postmodern
era. The content of the course is to present mainly European fashion of
the 20th and 21st century in a clear and complete way. Fashion History -
Design and Tailoring, Fashion Magazines, Fashion Photography and Drawing.

Emphasis is placed on the connection of fashion with socio-historical
events and the history of art.

Fashion is a living medium and therefore practical exercises are included
in. The creative part of course pays interest on the manual and mental
ability of art students. The method of work is realised own project.
Students design ideas, create a prototypes and sew the final model,
clothing or accessories during the lesson.
