Accesses and Transports Networks

FEKT-CPTSAcad. year: 2017/2018

The subject deals with evolution of telecommunication networks and their convergence with computer ones. The stress is insisted on modern analysis of access and transport networks with forcing of their diversity and also concurrent features together with application of analogue and digital modulations. First-rate attention is given to complex usage of an E1 frame by G.703 recommendation. Students obtain view of private and public EWSD and S12 telephony exchanges, they understand principles of digital switches S and T, of actual signalling system SS7 and of internet SIP exchange. Modern computer networks are explained with usage of CISCO technology for network elements. Students extend their knowledge of packet switching, protocols of Ethernet networks, switching in LAN networks, virtual networks VLAN, wide networks WLAN, frame Relay networks and other.
