Monitoring of basic determinants of healthy lifestyle

Learning outcomes of the course unit The course is focused on the area of healthy lifestyle and strategies of healthy lifestyle in the Czech Republic and some developed countries. In the practical area, the teaching is focused on methods of data collection, the use of appropriate monitoring technology and the creation of project design.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student will be able to:
- the student will understand the importance and importance of monitoring the determinants of healthy lifestyle in all components of the population,
- Explain the role of a healthy lifestyle in health promotion and disease prevention;
- can apply practical activities using new methods and technologies
- can use both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection, logistics of its collection and subsequent evaluation,
- acquire skills in designing, implementing and evaluating interventions aimed at improving the level of healthy lifestyles at national and regional level,
- will be able to use appropriate methods of data collection within the framework of bachelor's and master's thesis.
Seminar work will verify the acquired skills and skills.

Course curriculum

Learning outcomes of the course unit The course is focused on the area of ​​healthy lifestyle and strategies of healthy lifestyle in the Czech Republic and some developed countries. In the practical area, the teaching is focused on methods of data collection, the use of appropriate monitoring technology and the creation of project design.

1. Definition and basic definition of the issue of monitoring the health determinants of the population's lifestyle
2. Life style research (HBSC study, ESPAD, COSI, WHO)
3. Environmental aspects and monitoring of PA (accelerometers, pedometers, wearables, GIS analysis)
4. Social and behavioral approaches to public health (analysis of social and behavioral scientific theories, models and concepts that can be used to address public health issues and implement relevant interventions)
5. Quantitative methods of data collection (questionnaire, validation study, reverse translation, data transcription).
6. Qualitative methods of data collection (focus groups, interview method, data analysis, data file analysis software)
7. Creation of logistics of data collection (creation of a schedule and logistics of data collection for qualitative and quantitative data collection)
8. Planning and implementing health promotion and disease prevention programs (planning and implementing public health programs for defined population groups)
9. Foreign strategies to promote healthy lifestyles in individual countries (Finland, Canada, New Zealand, others)
10. Strategy in science and research in the field of healthy lifestyle in the Czech Republic (national priorities, Health 2020, RIS strategy)
11. Economic aspects of the level of healthy lifestyle (economic impact of the population's lifestyle on the system of public health financing)
12. Foreign public health and lifestyle organizations (HEPA, GAPA, ISPAH, HBSC)
13. Preparation, collection and analysis of data for bachelor's and master's thesis (individual consultations for data collection)

Compulsory 80% lectures. 100% compulsory seminars. It is possible to compensate exceptionally after agreement with the teacher.
