Course detail
Construction of Process Equipment II
FSI-KKRAcad. year: 2018/2019
A condition for the safe and economical design of process equipment is the quality static calculation of the relative deformations and the stresses of the process equipment loaded in the operating conditions. Students will learn to use basic computational methods in the field of shell statics. They will also become more familiar with legislation and its development from the past to the current state. Significant attention is paid to the European standards for the design of unfired pressure vessels EN 13445 and the frequently used standard in this area the ASME BPVC. In exercises the students will perform the strength calculations of the devices both manually and with the use of the Sant'Ambrogio and Visual Vessel Design software, which are commonly used in practice for these purposes. They will also learn about principles of designing steel structures.
