The course is focused on analysis of available information sources (articles, books, Internet, engineering works etc.), trend analysis and design of alternative soulution of technical problem solved in diploma thesis.

Prerequisites

The knowledge of findings from mechanics of solids and from machine design courses which is acquired during previous student`s education.

Creative work in ateliers.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Graded course-unit credit requirements: active participation in lectures, development of semester work (report) with defined structure and range, containing variants of design concept, specification of materials, manufacturing processes and 3D model of arrangement of technical elements. Presentation summarizing the results of semester work.

The aim of the course is to survey current state of knowledge and to clearly formulate the technical problem solved in diploma thesis and to propose its conceptual solution.
