Course detail

Building Constructions (1)

FAST-0H1Acad. year: 2018/2019

Introduction to the subject, documentation of buldings, general technical requirements for constructions. Constructional systems of structures. Dividing of systems according to transmission of the load between horisontal and vertical structures, total stiffness. Problems and requirements hanged together – strength, creep, settlement, dilatation. Load-bearing masonry walls and structures attached (bussumers, wall rims, chimney and vent holes). Non-bearing walls, properties, requirements, material variants. Horizontal bearing structures – functions, general requirements, attachement to vertical bearing structures, material and technological variants. Culomns monolithic, combined and special constructional systems.

Aims

Basic technical terminology, acquire precise expressing abilities on field of building constructions.
Get knowledge about multi-storey, single-storey and special elementary constructional systems.
Terms - modular coordination, standardization and normalization, design link.
Load-bearing systems of masonry walls, walled materials, dimensions and properties of masonry.
Ring beams, lintels, chimney and vent holes.
Non-bearing walls, partitions and external cladding. Constructions, technological and material versions of partitions, weight and acoustics of partitions, further to other constructure.
Connection external masonry cladding to load-bearing system.
Basic technological and material types of horizontal load-bearing constructions.
Dilatation and sliding joints of constructions – reasons of application and general principles of usage.

Correct application of theoretical knowledge and regulerities in design of elementary building is purpose of subject´s execises 0H1 and continue on further subject 0H2.
