Prerequisites

Basics taught at secondary schools. Graphs of basic elementary functions (powers, roots, quadratic function, direct and indirect proportion, absolute value, trigonometric functions) and the basic properties of such functions. Simplification of algebraic expressions. The concept of a geometric vector and basics of analytic geometry in E3 (parametric equation of a straight line, general equation of a plane, dot product of vector and its application to metric and positional problems). Determining the types and basic elements of conics, drawing their graphs.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Not applicable.

Course curriculum

Time schedule will be determined on the basis of the test assessments.

Work placements

Not applicable.

Aims

The students should be able to compute with matrices, perform elementary transactions, calculate determinants, solve systems of linear algebraic equations by Gauss elimination method. They should understand the basics of calculus and be able to geometrically interpret some concepts. They should master differentiation and sketch the graph of a function.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
