Landscape field its structure and development during time. Basic shapes of Earth’s relief and processes and their modulation. Climate making factors, climate influence on development of relief, soil and vegetation. Weather. Water and its role in physical-geographic field. Karst areas and their development. Foundations of socio economic geography. Geographic incidence on Earth movement. Modern methods of geographic research. Summary regional geography of the world, continents and the Czech Republic. Geographic approach to creations of topographic and theme cartographic works.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will manage theoretical basics of landscape sphere studies and their single components against background of ecology and environmental protection problems. They will refresh their region-geographic knowledge of single world continents and Czech republic as well in context of contemporary social and political situation.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of geography on level of secondary school.

Co-requisites

The shape and movements of the Earth, the atmosphere and its properties.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures with presentation, expanding presentation on Moodle LMS for repetition and self study, consultations, exercise programs with individual tasks for self study.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Processing of geographical description and topographic (thematic) map a small territory. Successful completion of term test, attendance.

Extension of knowledge technical focussed students of natural and social processes having influnce to form landscape. Improvement of region knowledge of sudents.
