Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students reach the goal of the course by acquiring knowledge of basic principles connected with ecology, related legal regulations, methods of processing waste produced in civil engineering and other industrial branches in civil engineering, of waste composition, of waste toxicity, of thermal waste processing and of basic principles of waste storage.

Prerequisites

Physics, theoretical fundamentals of the structure of building materials and the chemistry of building materials in extent of the subject matter at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

Co-requisites

Experimental Laboratory Methods.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Information is presented to students in the form of lectures.
Information is presented to students in the form of lectures.
Seminars include computational part and part focused on practical laboratory experiments performed by students. During laboratory seminars students also work in teams on “ECO PROJECT” with a given topic and afterwards prepare powerpoint presentation of the results obtained, presentation takes place in the last seminar.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit - mandatory attendance at seminars, written reports of laboratory tasks, evaluated EKO PROJECT and a credit test, pass mark at least 60 %.
The final exam consists of a written examination, the results of which are discussed during the oral examination with possible supplementary questions.
