The methodology of creation the final assignment

The course is focused on acquiring advanced knowledge about the requirements of final thesis, citation and presentation. The course provides space for personal experience, development of self-knowledge and practice of basic formal, citation and presentation skills applicable in practice.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course provides students with relevant knowledge and develops abilities and skills related to the formal requirements of the final work. Completion of this course develops knowledge and skills especially in the field of formal requirements of work and defense of the final thesis.

Prerequisites

In accordance with the study plan for bachelor studies at FUT BUT in Brno.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

In addition to the introductory lecture, the lessons are done in the form of exercises in which students learn and practically test individual citation standards, presentation and acquire formal formalities of the final work.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

To obtain the credit, the following conditions are required:
the semester work is sent to the on-line platform at the latest by the end of the 12th semester. The final assessment of the student is based on the assessment of the interconnection of the individual parts of the final thesis and the method (assessment of the trainees) and the quality of quotations according to ISO 690 evaluated by an external expert. Point evaluation of individual parts: total of 100 points can be obtained from the semester work, ie. the interrelation of the name, methodology, goals and the theoretical part of the thesis 0-60 points, with the minimum boundary being set at 30 points (assessing the practicing), the visual and typographical side of the work 0 -10 points, the minimum limit is set at 5 points, the nature of the literature used and the quote 0-30 points, the minimum limit being set at 15 points (evaluation by an externist). Reasons for not granting the credit: failure to pass the semestral work in term, Absence of an Exercise Exercised by an Expert, and 50 or Less Points (the sum of the minimum score points from each area).

Course curriculum

The subject is built on lectures and especially on exercises. The basic thematic content of the exercise is as follows:
• Practice in enterprises
. Methodology of creative work.
• Searching for and processing information.
• Formal requirements of complex written work.
• Literature quote.
• Model structure of the final thesis.
• Formal requirements for final work and most common mistakes.
• Practical presentation of the study for the final thesis.

Aims

The main aim of the course is to get acquainted with the methodology of mental work, ways of obtaining, processing and using information and with the formal requirements of diploma thesis. Acquiring basic skills in the preparation, processing and presentation of the final thesis.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Submission of semester work in term. Exercises are compulsory in the part of an external expert.
