Studio Follow-up II - Environment - summer

The course focuses on individual students’ diploma project in contexts and media of their choice. Appropriate theoretical frameworks are applied In critical discussion. Students research related phenomena and approaches in contemporary art in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

In the summer semester of the second year of master's degree, students apply their artistic experience in the diploma project. They demonstrate the ability to choose and apply apropriate media of their work. They will demonstrate their orientation in theories related to their approach and of the awareness of related artworks.

Prerequisites

Students are distinguished authors, they have the experience of artistic and exhibition projects. They critically evaluate not only their work but also its presentation context.

1. Dipoloma project
The studio work is continuously complemented with tutorials within the department or with external experts, with lectures, and field trips to exhibitions, and institutions in relation to the discussed problems. An integral part of the program is also study of literature and texts related to individual art works.

Dipoloma project; conscious choice and application of the media of expression; the formulation and discussion of urgent issues; orientation in contemporary cultural events in relation to history and non-artistic areas.
