Design of electrical drives

The electrical drive as a system, interaction of a drive with environs, choise of conception and dimension of a drive, protections. Design of project documentation. Basic theory of reliability in electrical drives, calculation of reliability parameters. Design of electrical drives to be resist from disturbances.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Passed student is qualified:
- to master engineering method to design elctrical systems
- to design by oneself an electrical controlled drive for given mechanical plant
- to dimensioning of a motor and other power parts including protection
- to design control circuits of the drive
- to eleborate project dokumentation of the drive
- to calculate project reliability of the drive

Prerequisites

Student's necessary prerequisities are knowledge of basic mathematics , of electrical circuits, of a control theory, of electrical machines and of power electronics .

Aims

The aim is to get knowledge of design-methods of electrical drives for production machines and apliances, from the parameter setting, the choise of a conception, dimensioning and design of control circuits to the project docummentation and connection structures

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
