Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will obtain deeper knowledge of mechanics, theory of physical field and wave and quantum physics

Prerequisites

Mathematics - basic of vector algebra, derivation, integration, improper and proper integral, linear differential equations of second order
Physics - basics of mass point, many particle systems and rigid body mechanics, basics of physical field theory

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week, seminars - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The condition of the course is to pass the test in the exercises (evaluation: 25 - 50 points). The exam examines knowledge of definitions, laws, and especially their application on examples. The exam is oral. Students take an oral exam after obtaining a credit (evaluation: 25 - 50 points).

Aims

The main aim of this subject is to familiarize students with fundamental theories and laws of classical, quantum and relativistic physics. Students will be able to apply their knowledge to simple systems and predict their behaviour. Moreover, the perspective of micro-, macro- and mega-worlds-behaviour is also given. The objective of Physics II is to show that physics is the theoretical ground and starting point of engineering branch.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Participation on exercises and purchasing of 50% points from control works in theoretical exercises (of project). If the student does not fill this requirement, the teacher can determine alternative requirement giving of include
