FCH-BC_UBP_CHMAcad. year: 2019/2020

The students will learn what basic parts of scientific texts are and what their content is. They will get to know literature sources and learn how to make background research. They will repeat and improve knowledge regarding data collection, data processing and data presentation. The acquired knowledge will be tested within opponency of bachelor's thesis (BT) written in previous years. The theme of BT will be similar as the actual on of the student. The work will be advised from the point of completeness and content of particular parts, intelligibility and typographic rules, relationship between the title and the scope to the selection of testing methods, measurement conditions, the form of processing and evaluation of data including formulation of conclusion.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in a form of seminars taking two hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Aims

To grave on students' mind that structure of all specialized/scientific texts (protocols, thesis, scientific articles) is the same and that for completeness and intelligibility of the text it is necessary to import all its sections of proper content and that except technical/scientific accuracy and exactness it is necessary to present results properly and the whole text amend according to valid typographic rules.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance in the seminar in a range of two hours per week is compulsory for students of the presence form of study – the attendance is evidenced, randomly classified is an attention of students. Unexcused absence may represent the restriction to credit the subject. Combined form of study is supported by E-learning system with syllabus, study materials and lecture presentations.
