Course detail
FCH-PNMCHAcad. year: 2019/2020
The laboratory project focuses on the synthesis of novel materials in the form of thin films using plasma nanotechnology.Students (up to 4) will acquire basic knowledge and practical skills in plasma nanotechnology using atomic processes for the synthesis of functional materials in the form of thin films with controlled chemical (composition, structure) and physical (mechanical, optical, electronic) properties. The plasma process is monitored by mass spectrometry to analyze the plasma species (ions, radicals) used to synthetize the novel material. The deposited films are characterized by selected spectroscopic (ellipsometry, FTIR) and microscopic (atomic force microscopy, nanoindentation, nanotribology) techniques. This technology makes it possible to construct not only individual films but also more complex layered nanocomposites.
