Entrepreneurial Practice 2

Subjects Entrepreneurial Practice 1,2,3 and 4 constitute a logical coherent unit, ensuring continuous development of entrepreneurial and managerial skills. Entrepreneurial Practice 2 focuses on knowledge and skills necessary in the stage of growth of the company. The key output is implementation of business sub-projects, where students will develop knowledge and skills connected with the business activity management. As the part of individual and team study plan, students will co-create their business specialization. Identically, these plans will help to control fulfilment of practical requirements. Link between practical training and ability to develop acquired knowledge is supported by workshops, developing areas corresponding with the current stage of life-cycle of the company. Thus, workshops will serve as a planned specialized development of people inside the company.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Close interconnection between Entrepreneurial Practice 1,2,3 and 4 is vitally important from the point of development of knowledge and competencies of students.
Specific fields of development within Entrepreneurial Practice 2 are as follows: students will naturally develop their communication and leadership skills. Students will improve acquired knowledge and skills regarding innovations and competitive behaviour of the small company. Students will gain experience as to the assessment of success rate of entrepreneurial activities.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Course is evaluated with grade credit. Evaluation of students is based on individual and team learning plan execution.
Every student has Individual learning agreement specifying what he/she wants to specifically develop and reach in each semester of practice. Team/company has Team learning agreement defining planned learning outputs for team/company.
Performance is evaluated bot continuously and in the end of semester or academic years. Evaluation combines individual and team evaluation, feedback from lecturers, external subjects and team feedback.
Team and individual learning agreements are based on structure of activities conducted within practice and they are applied as well for evaluation of team and individual performance. Basic structure shall cover:

Workshop: managerial activities in the small company
Revision of individual and team plans of the practice

Week 9 to 12
Workshop: development of services in the entrepreneurial activity of the small company

Aims

The objective is to create a space to start own business practice with the emphasis on creation, development and management of small and medium-sized company and related implementation of entrepreneurial projects.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance at all activities compulsory and controlled. Absence (health and serious personal reasons) must be compensated by additional activities in business projects and organized workshops.

Control of team learning sessions and project meetings
- We will have two compulsory team learning sessions per week on Monday and Thursday – 9-13 (the same terms as last year)
- Every absence up to 30% must be compensated by special task which will be defined by person preparing the session or by me
- Absence higher than 30% up to 40 % will mean above mentioned tasks plus one extra assignment defined by me
- Absence higher than 40% means fail.
Business project sessions - compulsory - so called steering meetings (as I mentioned during interviews), which will be organized separately (not as part of team learning sessions), probably on Monday afternoon and probably every third week. The main purpose is to control the progress of your projects.
