Definitions and basic characteristics of the analytical process used in trace and ultratrace analysis; the specificity of non-analytical and analytical techniques used. Techniques for preparation of environmental and biotic samples for environmental analysis, issues of homogeneity of abiotic and biotic samples, combination of analyte / matrix, effect of matrix effects on generated results. Isotopic techniques used in ultratrace analysis of abiotic and biotic samples and their comparison with other methods. AOAC method; ISO methods suitable for trace analysis. Statistical methods used in the evaluation of trace and ultratrace analysis results. Evaluation of analytes effects and their interpretation in relation to the structure of analytes. Risk analysis.
