Physics and chemistry of molecular materials

The course is focused on the chemical and physical properties of molecular materials that lead to their use in advanced applications such as light-emitting devices (OLED), solar cells, field effect transistors, electrochemical transistors, sensors and biosensors, photochromic diodes, lasers, non-linear optical devices, etc.

Prerequisites

University level of solid state physics, physical chemistry and general and organic chemistry.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is realized through individual consultations. In case of teaching more students, there are joint consultations in a form of discussion on the selected topics. E-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to the teachers and students.

Course is closed by colloquium, which includes a lecture on a given topic.

Photophysical and photochemical properties of molecular materials
Electrical properties (transport of charge carriers) molecular materials
Physics and chemistry of advanced applications of molecular materials:
Light emitting device (OLED), solar cells, transistors, electrochemical transistors, sensors and biosensors, Photochromic diodes, lasers, nonlinear optical devices, etc.
Methods of preparation and study of components of molecular materials advanced applications
