The course focuses on characteristic features of business professional communication. It provides students with relevant specialist language and professional communication skills they will need in the workplace.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course at upper-intermediate level (B2 according to CEFR) is designed to prepare students for various economic professions. It will enrich their professional vocabulary and enable them to express themselves more authoritatively in professional contexts.

Prerequisites

Professional English 2 continues the course Professional English 1 covering the first half of the course book (U1 - 6). Requirements from Professional English 1 are necessary prerequisites to continue in Professional English 2.

The course it taught by means of language lessons focused on practicing language skills and developing vocabulary. It also includes individual work of students.

75% attendance and active participation at classes

Credit test (max. 30 pts, one attempt)
Total min. 25 pts in e-learning tests and credit test

Aims

The course has is based on practical approach and is intended to prepare students for communication in business environment.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Students’ participation is compulsory and their work is systematically controlled. Regular attendance, active participation in lessons and completing the assigned tasks are required. Absence may be compensated for by an agreement with the teacher.
