Rules of structural design of multi-storey buildings. Spatial rigidity, bracing and reinforcing systems. Floor and platform bearing systems.
Multi-storey building columns, footing and column anchorage.
Large-span roofing. Spatial trusses. Structural design of truss plates and grid systems.
Production and assembly of metal structures. Reinforcing, reconstructing and rebuilding problems of steel framed buildings.
Design of metal structures based on experimental results. Tests realization and interpretation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student will learn and get under control the aims of matter in
teachings, focused especially to problems of design of metal constructions, multi-story buildings and large span roofings, in term of content amplificated more in detail in the schedule of related training subject.

1. Current trends in development of metal structures (development of structural systems, materials and their combinations, technologies).
2. Development and perspective of using multi-storey building.
3. Structural system of multi-storey buildings with steel and steel-concrete bearing construction.
4. Spatial rigidity, brace and reinforcement systems.
5. Floor and platform bearing systems. Using of castellated beams and design.
6. Steel-concrete floor construction.
7. Multi-storey building columns, footing and column anchorage.
8. Large-span roofing. Spatial trusses.
9. Structural design of truss plates and grid systems.
10. Fabrication and assembly of metal structures.
11. Reinforcing, reconstructing and rebuilding problems of steel framed buildings.
12. Design of metal structures based on experimental results. Tests realization and interpretation.
13. Catastrophic events and their reflecting in design concepts of structural systems.
