Can produce a text on topics which are familiar or of personal and professional interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. Is familiar with language and vocabulary specific for his/her professional life, describe how things work, describe the components of things and the like.
The scope corresponds to the level and content of the courses A5-A6 (see courses documentation):
* upper-intermediate level (applies to students of 1st year of study in 2020/2021)
* intermediate level (students who completed the courses A5-A6 in 2019/2020 or earlier).

Study at intermediate level and vocabulary learnt in the courses A5-A6 are regarded as a minimum to pass the exam.

The exam has a written and an oral part. The written part (max 80 points) focuses on reading, listening, cloze test, grammar and technical vocabulary. The oral part (max 20 points) tests fluency, pronunciation and ability to use vocabulary and grammar covered in the compulsory literature. In both parts, students are required to collect at least 50% of the points.
