Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course of figure drawing complements the range of architect’s skills with the ability to interpret the human figure in drawings. The course consists of practicals focused on the understanding of basic composition, proportion, and volume principles.
The quality of output is guaranteed by the continuous correction.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Evaluation is based on the attendance in practicals, on submitted collection of works from the practicals where all blocks are represented: at minimum 10 drawings created during the practicals + 10 drawings created at home (studies of hands and feet). The grading evaluation reflects the quality of submitted works and the development throughout the semester.

Aims

The goal is to learn the anatomic and proportional aspects of human body as the basic scale of space in architecture. To understand the principles of mass and volume of human figure as a highly complex “structure”.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Students attend the introductory lecture; it is compulsory to attend the practicals. Two absences from practicals are tolerated; more absences in case of serious health problems must be discussed with the pedagogue.
In the case of a student's apology and with approval of the subject guarantor, personal attendance may be substituted with online attendance in the classes.
