English for Architects - Guide for Working Abroad

The course will focus on practical use of English for architects working in a foreign company. Course syllabus corresponds to real-life situations, from the first day to the last day at work.
 
Each lecture and related seminar will have a specific topic - CV, portfolio, phone call, job interview, first day at work, communication with colleagues, communication with managers, presentation to clients, project phases, visit to the building department, notice/resignation letter, last day at work etc.

Graduates of the course will gain knowledge and practical experience through exercises. This knowledge will allow them to avoid mistakes made by university students / graduates in seeking employment abroad.

2. Company selection, phone call.
3. Interview in the company, acceptance / rejection of the offer.
4. First day and first week in the company.
5. Working communication skills - phone calls, e-mails, letters.
6. Communication with colleagues, superiors and subordinates.
7. Communication with consultants.
8. Visit to the building department.
9. Construction visit (construction site supervision).
10. End of year review.
11. Request for salary increase / new work assignement.
12. Notice/resignation letter.
13. Last day in the company.
