Hi Tech Painting 2

The course is designed as a consulting and discussion platform that offers students individual solutions to their technological and material processes and experiments. It builds on the subject of Hi Tech Painting 1, providing a general overview of contemporary painting technologies and procedures. Compared to this, Hi Tech Painting 2 is more focused on developing individual thinking and specific focus and individual student projects. The course also includes responses to assignments aimed at disrupting stereotypes and best practices, or just changing media or technology.

Completing the Hi-tech Painting 1 course. Interest in innovative techniques in painting technology.

Individualized assignments that can deliberately disrupt stereotypes and best practices, or offer other creative intent solutions by changing media or technology.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The following conditions are set for granting the credit: active participation in lessons, which can be compensated by submitting a task elaborated on the basis of an alternative assignment after agreement with the teacher; Submitting completed tasks.

- Formulation of individual student course projects
- Search of related technologies in the context of contemporary art
- Individual consultation on project progress

Aims

The aim of the course is to broaden the knowledge of materials and technologies that are currently entering contemporary art practice; furthermore, the ability to think of colors or any other painting material as one of the creative components of artistic practice. Students will learn to find a way to adequate (situational and contextually anchored) means of expression, will develop individual, and therefore functional and communicative visual expression with emphasis on original materiality and technology.

Compulsory attendance, which can be compensated by agreement with the teacher by submitting a task prepared on the basis of an alternative assignment.
