The subject presents psychological views on the process of creation, perception and interpretation of the work of art. Social psychology, role negotiation, personality assumptions and links to social positions, communication and social interaction. The phenomenon of the game as the basis of human activities.

Complex knowledge and understanding of the process of creating and the process of reception of the work of art. Developing abilities and using personality potential for their own artistic activity including self-reflection.

Requirements for obtaining the credit: compulsory 50% attendance and preparation of a paper.

Course curriculum

1.Psychology and perception of the work. Introduction to issues; summary of basic principles from the perspective of General Psychology. Important concepts: perception, memory, concept, intelligence, thinking, emotion.
2. Perception and illusion. The perception of the work of art and the concept of the work with reference to the audience's reference; concept of color interpretation in diagnostics; iconography and historical conventions.Important concepts: perceptual hypothesis and observational strategies, spatial references, perspectives, illusions, presentation strategies, perceived subjectivism, objective objectification, historical and current iconography.
3. Artistic forms and choice of means of expression. Works of art, music, dance, literary, dramatic work; means of expression, theme, content, form. Important concepts: expression and scene, light and space, environment, format, proportions, structure, shape, line, color, density, dynamics, counterpoint, concept, strategy, concept, program.
4. Methods of creation. Art as an unmistakable way of discovering the world, talent as a subjective disposition of observation skills, and choice of code to describe reality. Important concepts: personal dramaturgy, personal mythology, observation, evaluation, experimentation, authorship and interpretation.
5. Principles of association and composition. Particular parameters of spatial and temporal relations.Important concepts: association laws, organization of the perception field.
6. Ideological models and creativity. Assurance, training and support for divergent production. Important concepts: Guilford's morphological model of intellect, convention and creativity.
7. Psychological theories and trends. Characteristics and basic elements. Important notions: shape psychology, gestalism, deep psychology and psychoanalysis, behaviorism, humanistic psychology, transpersonal psychology.
8. Artistic directions. Characteristics and basic elements. Important concepts: symbolism, modernism, expressionism, abstraction and op-art, surrealism and dada, fluxus and conceptual art, etc.
9. Influences of psychological theories, art and psychoanalysis. Sigmund Freud, Carl Gustav Jung, Alfred Adler, Jacques Lacan. Surrealism, dada, fluxus. Important notions: taboo, complex, spirituality and mythology, interpretation of dreams and free association, topographic model of psyche, collective consciousness, archetype.
10. Communication through art. Models of interaction and communication principles from the point of view of Social Psychology. Medium, Mediation, Mediality, Media. Important concepts: social perception, cooperation, competitiveness, hostility, conflict, assertiveness, culture, stereotypes, norms, conformism.
11. Game. Game as: the basis of human activities, creative principle, imitation / model, presentation.
12. Self-presentation. Important concepts: biography, personal dramaturgy, personal mythology, interpretation, psychohygiene, suggestion, presentation, representation, viewing and interpretation of the work in the context of scene development and personal creation.

Students will learn about principles of creation and perception of artwork. They will understand the principles of talent and personal predispositions development and they will be able to use that knoledge for they selfpromotion and personal development.
