Portland cement hydratio. Blended cements, pozzolans, slag, fly ashes. Aluminate cement, production, properties and application. Special cements. Lime and lime binders. Gypsum and sulphate binders. Methods of testing and analysis of binder. Concrete - composition, classification, admixtures, additives, reinforcemen. Concrete - testing of fresh and hardened concrete. Actual trends in development of production and utilization of binders.Laboratory course:Properties control by ultrasonic Non-destructive methods. Determination of reology properties of hardening pastes and mortars by automatic penetrometer. Volume stability of cement. Chemical resistance of glass. Calorimetry. Determination of normal consistency. Hardening time period. Particle size distribution.
