System Integration

Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject is focused on the integration of enterprise information systems from several perspectives. The first is the integration of information systems into company processes and their management in the form of services. The second aspect is the integration of systems among themselves, explanation of the principle and use of metasystems. Another area is technological integration. The last area is the integration of data between systems and their distribution to users.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will get knowledge of the methodology for designing models of integrated information and communication technologies, modeling of structures integrating environmental information and communication systems and their perspectives in the information society.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of informatics, operating and database systems, office and internet applications and enterprise information systems at level of the bachelor's study of informatics. Knowledge of business economics, management, marketing, sales and finance at level of the bachelor's study of economics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching takes place in the form of lectures, which have the character of an explanation of the basic principles, methodology of the discipline and problems. As part of the exercise, students solve a given semester project in a selected company, ideally in connection with their diploma theses.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students work on a semester project, on the basis of which they obtain a graded credit.

2. Introduction to system integration.
3. Fundamentals and levels of system integration.
4. Main strategic approaches, concepts of IS / ICT development and operation management.
5. Methods of system integration.
6. Decisive aspects of contractual security of supply of system integration services - conditions of service services.

Aims

The course aims to acquaint students with the issues of system integration at the level of integration of information systems and processes, and information systems among themselves. Students analyze the situation in the selected company, identify weaknesses and look for possible ways to improve. The primary emphasis is on independent student work.

Attendance is optional. Students consult their projects with the teacher.
