First part of the course “Materials Testing” deals with an experimental determination and evaluation of mechanical characteristics and fracture behaviour of metallic and non-metallic structural materials. The course reviews also the current testing technology and examines force applications systems, force measurement, strain measurement, important instrument considerations, equipment for environmental testing, and computers applications for materials testing. Fracture mechanics. Application of relationships and parameters incorporated by fracture mechanics, both in new structural materials development and structural integrity planns.
