Learning outcomes of the course unit

After passing this course students should be able to communicate in English independently, at C1 entry level. The knowledge and skills gained should contribute to more fluent speaking and communication in personal, academic as well as professional environments. The course can also be used as preparation for international English language exams.

Prerequisites

The minimum entry requirement is very good knowledge of B2 grammar and vocabulary (upper-intermediate).

Language instruction as an extension of basic professional curriculum.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students‘ assessment is carried out based on the attendance record, active participation in classroom discussions and the results of the final test.

Aims

The aim of the crouse it to reinforce individual abilities of students to express themselves in English. The previously gained knowledge of grammar and vocabulary will be revised and systematically expanded in real contexts.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at seminars is compulsory and is systematically checked by the teacher. Students are allowed to miss two seminars. In well-founded cases, extra absences can be made up for after consulting the situation with the teacher.
