Optimization project of a section of railway line. Geodetic surveying of track alignment, earth formation and engineering structures, evaluation of horizontal and vertical alignment. Design of new geometry components, laying out of new track alignment, laying out respective of fixed points. Practical application of diagnostic methods, static and dynamic plate loading test. Geometry layout of standard turnout, precise levelling of vertical alignment. Geodetic surveying of section of a railway station. GPS surveying principles and methods. GPS practice with different apparatus sets. Calculation of bearing capacity of a bridge structure. Working out of technical drawings.
Terrain mapping with GPS methods. Levelling of road route with the standard optical automatic level instrument. Design of the road reconstruction. Terrain and present situation surveying. Reconstruction plan - horizontal and vertical alignment, width disposition and cross-sections. Design of a crossroad and a parking lot on concrete local conditions. The practical geodetic layout of the designed road project, GPS methods usage for road route layout. Practical application of the diagnostic methods e.g. bulk density test, drill core, visual inspection and classification according to TP82 - Catalog of flexible pavement malfunctions, unevenness measuring with the 4-meter beam, the roughness of road surface - evaluating of macrotexture with sand grain.
Field presentation of basic methods of geotechnical survey, bore log documentation, exploratory set G10, light dynamic penetration, interpretation of engineering geological survey.

Geodesy in Civil Engineering, coordinate systems, geodetic computations, measurement of directions and angles, distance measurements, height systems, height measurements, setting out of buildings, roads and railways, maps
Track alignment design parameters and its spatial positions, railway track design, subdivision and construction of rail substructure and its construction layers.
Complete highway route design, computation of highway geometry.
Soil mechanics, classification of soils for engineering purposes.
