Learning outcomes of the course unit
Basic knowledge of water in nature and natural water cycle, overview of basic hydrological measures and their measurements. Statistical analysis of hydrological data. Hydrological modelling and introduction to stochastic hydrology.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of higher mathematics, physics, probability theory and statistics, basic knowledge of hydraulics. Basic and extended knowledge of MS Excel.

The Hydrology course teaches in the form of lectures and practical sessions.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
To evaluation of Hydrology course the practical session and examination have to be pass. Assessment from practical session awards for an active participants and elaboration of exercises. Examination evaluates theoretical and practical knowledge.

Aims
Basic knowledge of water in nature and natural water cycle. An overview of basic hydrological measures and their monitoring and measurement. Quantification of hydrological variables and their relationship. Rainfall - runoff modelling, introduction to stochastic hydrology, prediction of water stages and flows. An information on water bodies according to EU legislature.
