Seminar is oriented to the elaboration of the diploma project.
Choice of the topic of diploma project, determination of basic disposition and structural parameters in connection with the specific topic of the diploma project. The elaboration of the seminar work to the theme given by the topic of diploma project. The requirements to the elaboration of the diploma project.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student will learn and get under controll aims of the course within the meaning of upgrading knowledge in the field of design and realization of metal, steel-concrete and timber structures and bridges, especially with the respect to problems in the connection with the specify topic of diploma project.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the design of members, components and connections of metal and timber structures. Principles of structural mechanics, elasticity, strength and plasticity, which necessary for the complex design of steel, steel-concrete or timber structure. Basic principles of structural dynamics.

Syllabus

1. Project task. 2.-4. Geometry and disposition of a structure, variants of the structural and static design, preliminary static calculation. 4.-9. Project solution and elaboration: modelling, static calculations, dimensioning. Consultation with Diploma´s thesis supervisor. 10.-11. Project solution: structural detailing, drawing documentation. Consultation with Diploma´s thesis supervisor. 12. Completion of the project. 13. Presentation of the project.
