Transport terminology, basic terms, strategy and development of transport in the Czech Republic according to EU. Transport infrastructure and its relation to EU.
Development of world railway network. Development and characteristics of railway network within the Czech territory, organizing and maintenance structure of Czech Railways. Basic division of railway structures. Track alignment design parameters and its spatial positions, track alignment design parameters for tilting trains. Geodesic survey of spatial position of rail tracks, optimization tasks of rail spatial position, alignment and assurance of rail spatial position. Clearances, axial distances of rail tracks. Rail switch construction. Subdivision and construction of rail substructure and its construction layers – basic terms. Construction of rail superstructure. Urban rail transport.
Characteristics of railway and highway network within CR, urban communications and airports, integrated transportation systems. Categories of roads and highways, local transport communications, detaching and parking areas. Routes of road communication, horizontal and vertical alignment, change of lateral declination. Width arrangement of land communications. Earth object and draining. Road and its construction. Safety devices.
Data collection for automatic projecting, projecting line structures by help of computer techniques.

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of transport terminology, division, design and parameters of transport structures and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.

1. Rail track gauge and gauge widening 2. Cant, distance-related cant gradient, time-related cant gradient, cant deficiency. Specifying of design of a section double track line. 3. Calculations of track layout of a circle curve with transition curves 4. Compound curves. Transition curves connecting two circular curves. Reverse curves. 5. Vertical track alignment 6.
