Procedures used during the creation of a construction technology study, parts of a construction technology project involving the organization of the implementation of an assigned structure and a technical project concerning a construction process, using computer technology. Processing of documentation for carrying out the main technical stages of construction (groundwork, foundations, rough superstructure), preparation of a time schedule and financial plan for construction work, basic conception of construction site operations. Production of documentation for organising the construction of a technical stage for a structure. Production of a technical project concerning a construction process.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The students will master the objective of the Specialized Project course I, i.e. they acquire knowledge for elaboration of the construction technological study and selected parts of the construction technological project, i.e. analysis of the basic technology construction stages to be elaborated by the building contractor. The students acquired also knowledge for elaboration of the basic concept of the site operations, for creation of the time scheduling and financial plan of construction and gross balance of the basic resources.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of proposing and designing building constructions, road structures and underground utilities. Basic knowledge of carrying out specific parts of construction processes,, their sequence and continuity, requirements for their quality. Using computer technology.

Aims

Acquiring of knowledge and practical skills for elaboration of construction technology study and selected parts of the constrution technology project needed for efficient construction realization.
Analysis of the main technology construction phases, basic concept of the site operation, creation of the time and financial contruction plans, rough balance of main sources.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Syllabus

Alternative 1: Construction technology study. Production of a technical report for the assigned structure for the construction technology study. Situation of a structure with strong relationships to transportation routes. Technological study concerning the realisation of the main technical stages for the assigned structure. Bill of quantities for specific constructed structures. Source analysis of the assigned part of the construction work, including financial calculations according to technical economic indicators. Time schedule and financial plan for the construction of the assigned structure. Basic conception of the operation of the construction site in question. Safety measures at the site. Assessment of completed tasks, defence of proposed solutions, credit. Alternative 2: A technical stage in the construction of a structure Technical report regarding a studied structure with a focus on a selected technical stage. Bill of quantities for the assigned technical stage. Source analysis for the technical stage in question. Managing construction organization for the assigned technical stage. Conception of a proposal for site equipment. Time schedule for the assigned technical stage. Design of sets of machinery for the assigned technical stage. Qualitative requirements and meeting them, occupational safety with regard to the technical stage concerned. Assessment of students´ assignments, defence of proposed designs, credit. Alternative 3: A technical project for a selected construction sub-process Technical documentation for the construction process. Technical description of the building structure, or its parts, varied options for solving issues, choice of approach. Technical procedure for manufacture, sequence of individual tasks, interrelationships, workplace organisation and equipment, preparedness. The used material, its quantity and quality, method of transportation. Expertise of each member of the work crew, machinery used, tools and other ancillary equipment. Itemised budget for the construction sub-process. Time schedule for the performed construction sub-process. Quality conditions for the work done, occupational safety during the construction process.
