Learning outcomes of the course unit

Introduction to computer aided design in architecture and constructions using BIM technology (Revit Architecture, ArchiCAD). BIM technology and basic principles in the development of 3D-model of architectural and design elements. Description of the method of obtaining information (data) from the building information model, their presentation and use in project. Creating views for rendering, scenes and studies of sunlight.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of CAD programs, drawing in a plane.

Co-requisites

Knowledge of basic subjects of civil engineering.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit for active work in exercises.

Course curriculum

Introduction to the program, basics of operating a single comprehensive model.
Building design, we build the first walls.
Walls again - structure, editing.
Untypical shapes of walls, holes in the walls…
Doors and windows – inserting a description.
Doors and windows – families and their modifications.
Roofs.
Cladding – wall facades, rugged windows.
Terrain, visualization.
Drawing documentation.
Reports – table of rooms, windows and doors, materials…
Individual work on own model.
