Basic characters of water management systems, principle of construction and operation of water management dispatchinks, general control model and regulating circuit, in-line control, on-line control and off-line control, dynamic properties of water management systems, control in real time and operative control of water management structures, collecting, transmission and data processing, model design of supply and flood protection function of water management systems and their operation, remote setting of regulating valves.

Reservoirs and water management systems, applied hydrology, operational hydrology, geographic information systems, artificial intelligence methods, operational and system analysis.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Students attend 13 basic lectures on operational management of reservoirs and water management systems. In the exercises, students will complete several basic tasks using computers and available software according to the assignment. At the end of the course, they prepare a test covering the entire scope of the lectured material and take an oral exam.

Attending the exercises, handing in the results of the exercises, passing the written test and the oral exam.
