Students will get acquainted with the selected study literature in more detail, and they will gain the basis for individual preparation for the final state examination. By writing summaries, students will strengthen the ability to paraphrase professional texts - to capture their argumentative core, to separate important from less important information. During the seminars, students will deepen their ability to critically discuss topics related to the focus of study.

This course is based on an active learning method in which students depart from the passive role of content recipients. The role of teachers is coordinating (assigning the tasks), but of course also professional - they correct any shortcomings in summaries and lead discussions during seminars.

In order to be awarded the credit, it is necessary to meet the following conditions: submit summaries (in the required length and quality) for all five selected texts; attend at least four seminars.

At the beginning of the semester, students are divided into two seminar groups. In these groups, they work under the guidance of teachers with five texts from the recommended study literature for the final state examination. Each text must first be prepared by students in the form of a short abstract, which must be submitted before the date of the seminar devoted to the text. The selection of texts and dates of seminars for each group are announced at the beginning of the semester.

The aim of the course is to make students acquainted with selected texts of recommended literature for the final state examination and at the same time to develop and consolidate (via working with these texts) important competencies - the ability to paraphrase the content of a scholarly text and the ability to critically discuss its contents.
