Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student is able to:
• define and explain the main stages of electronic equipment design,
• understand the needs of design with regard to manufacturability, assembly, testability,
• describe the requirements in terms of product development platform, architecture and modularity,
• identify the main parameters of components from datasheets,
• specify quality parameters and to determine tolerance with regard to technological properties,
• use methods and tools for quality planning,
• define the requirements for reliability and apply design FMEA analysis,
• create a circuit diagram of simple electric system consisting of a microcontroller and a sensor of non-electric quantities,
• develop software for microcontroller.

Prerequisites

Students who take the course should be able to:
• Analyse electronic circuits with passive components, transistors and operational amplifiers
• Develop software in C programming language

Co-requisites

Aims

To be introduced to practicle principles of designing electronic instruments and devices.
The students acquires concrete application knowledge of electronic instrument design. Emphasis is laid on understanding the physical essence of parasitic events so that their knowledge can be applied to other cases. They learns to solve the appearance of many problems arising in the development of new equipments.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The content and forms of instruction in the evaluated course are specified by a regulation issued by the lecturer responsible for the course and updated for every academic year.
