The course focuses on the following topics: Historical development of information systems and their categories. Database systems. Corporate information strategy. Strategic management of information systems. Efficiency of information systems and metric. Information systems development. Planning of IS development. IS management. IS security. Process management.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course contains lectures that explain basic principles, problems and methodology of the discipline, and exercises that promote the practical knowledge of the subject presented in the lectures. E-learning support.
As part of the combined study, students get to work on a selected assignment from the content focus of the subject. E-learning is used to check the processing of work and consultations, in which students have access to electronic materials, including control tests. The subject is finished with a separate project.
During the semester, KS students have 26 hours of consultation with the lecturer.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Successful elaborations of semester work in a pre-set deadline. Assesment A-E, F means no award. Semester work must be hand in at the last week of lessonning.
Conditions for passing an exam: Knowledge of taught topics and its practical application.Form of examination: oral examination. Part of exam is discussion about semester work. Assesment of semeset work will be partly accepted for the final assesment.
