Basics of cell biology in vitro: structure and functions of the cell; isolation of cells from multicellular organisms and their maintenance in vitro; mastering the specialty of preparation of live cells for microscopical observations. Protocols of in vitro investigations of cell behaviour. Interpretation and evaluation of results of microscopical observations of cell behaviour. The role of light microscopy techniques for study of live cells in vitro: principles of light microscopy, fluorescence and confocal microscopy, quantitative phase imaging in holographic microscopy, image processing and analysis.
Demonstrations and practical sections in the laboratory.
