Design Project Realization

FSI-YE3Acad. year: 2022/2023

This course focuses on the use of already acquired knowledge from the previous course (Project design development). During the course, emphasis is placed on a comprehensive solution to the problem, which goes from the concept itself, through the selection of materials and production technologies to the final design. The condition of the final design is its usability and manufacturability in practice through current technologies. The output of the assignment is drawing documentation, presentation, and presentation model of the proposed solution on a suitable scale.

Study outcomes and competencies:
The ability of independent design work in solving medium and complex tasks.
The ability to identify significant problems and apply the acquired knowledge.
The ability to design a comprehensive solution including aesthetic, ergonomic, technical and technological aspects of design.
The ability to design solutions that reflect the reality and practice of our company.
The ability to implement a full-fledged design model on a suitable scale.

Prerequisites

Completion of the course: Project design development (PD2).
Knowledge and understanding of the basics of spatial creation, artistic composition and implementation of three-dimensional models.
Knowledge of sketching techniques and design experience in the field of industrial design.
Understanding of functional, technical and technological aspects of the topic.
Acquisition of complex design solutions for more complex industrial products.
Knowledge of modeling (eg: Rhinoceros, 3ds Max) and graphic programs (eg: Adobe package).

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods: Studio, periodically consulted design work in the form of individual or collective (2 to 3 people) problem solving, self-study.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Conditions for obtaining credit:
Active participation in exercises.
Submission of a completely developed project in digital (poster, presentation, visualization) and physical form (poster, presentation model) within the set deadlines.
Conditions for obtaining the exam:
Successful defense of the project solution, in which especially the design and the level of presentation of the achieved results are evaluated.
The resulting classification is determined according to the ECTS scale. In total, up to 100 points can be obtained.

Aims

The course leads students to a comprehensive design solution. After completing the course, students will be able to create an original, full-fledged design proposal that will meet all requirements for functionality and manufacturability. Graduates will be able to use the acquired knowledge for the comprehensive implementation of various projects.
