Industry 4.0 is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of things and cloud computing. Industry 4.0 creates what has been called a "smart factory".

Students will acquire the basic knowledge what is Industry 4.0. They will gain experience with using PLC and IoT.

The usual secondary school computer literacy is supposed.

The course is taught through lecture and exercises. Exercises are focused on practical technical experiences.

Course-unit credit is conditional on an active attendance at seminars.

Aims

To present basic knowledge and point of view what is Industry 4.0. like the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance at lectures is recommended while at seminars it is obligatory. Education runs according to week schedules. The form of compensation of missed seminars is fully in the competence of a tutor.
