The course addresses the problem of etiquette and rhetoric provides information and develops students’ skills in the area of communication in person or in a written form.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Course-unit credit requirements:
A scoring system is used in seminars. The student has to fulfill all requirements and obtain min. 60 points out of 100 possible in order to gain credits. Requirements:
1. completing the final test in the credit week (max. 40 points),
2. presentation of the presentation topic during the semester (max. 40 points),
3. written statement of the presentation topic max. 20 points).

60-67 b = E
68-75 b = D
76-83 b = C
84-91 b = B
92-100 b = A
Presentation of presentation topic in seminar, written statement of the presentation topic, the final test.

Aims

The aim of the course is to gain the basic knowledge of social interaction, rhetoric, presentation and obtaining the practical skills in these areas.
Students will be made familiar with the modern attitude to doing presentations. They will be able to participate in creation and application of tools intended for public speach.Students will be able to speak in front of an audience and will be familiar with the rules of etiquette.

Syllabus

The content of the seminars is to practice the lectured topics, to gather modern approaches to presentation and to acquire the basic skills of public speaking. Students are encouraged to prove their ability to speak in front of an audience and to have a basic knowledge of etiquette rules - meeting, addressing, introducing, dining or dressing.
