English Language B2 - 1

The course focuses on the development of all language competencies at B2 SERR level. It is based on materials and requirements of international examination FCE (First Certificate in English). The subject it taught by means of practical language exercises with emphasis on practicing communication skills and developing knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Course completion:
Credit requirements: 75% active participation in lessons, e-learning activities, final test
Exam requirements: listening comprehension, reading comprehension

Completion of the course for students with individual study:
Credit requirements: e-learning activities, final test
Exam requirements: listening comprehension, reading comprehension

Completion of the course in distance form (applies only when objective external circumstances do not allow the implementation of the study program in accordance with the granted accreditation):
Credit requirements (via Moodle): e-learning activities, final test, 75% active participation in online lessons (via MS Teams)
Exam requirements (via Moodle): listening comprehension, reading comprehension

Course completion based on an international certificate:

Instead of the subject English language B2, exams First Certificate in English (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) can be recognized up to five years after they were passed. Other exams cannot be recognized.

Course completion based on an exam passed at a foreign university:

If a student completes within Erasmus programme at a foreign university a subject that corresponds to the content and level of English language B2 and passes an exam in it, this subject can be recognized as equivalent to the subject English language B2.


Students’ attendance in the course is systematically monitored.

Aims

The course is focused on the development of all language competencies needed for fluent and independent use of English for General Purposes at B2 SERR level.
The student uses English language as an independent user at B2 CEFR level.
He/she knows and uses language means for the description of people.
He/she discusses the roles of individuals in the society.
He/she communicates in situations connected with travelling and culture.
He/she knows and uses language means for the description of personal qualities and mental processes.
He/she uses grammatical structures according to the requirements of the given level and course syllabus.
